On January 18, China's HBCD alternative project seminar was held online, with the participation of Ministry of ecology and environment of the people's Republic of China, CPPIA and CPPIAEPS. The meeting discussed the work of 2021 replacing HBCD flame retardant in the field of EPS and XPS in China.

According to the announcement of the Chinese government, after December 25, 2021, the use of HBCD in EPS and XPS will be completely stopped in China.
